#3 Carmelo Anthony

When asked who was the hardest player to guard in the NBA, Kobe Bryant quickly answered “Carmelo Anthony. He has the most complete offensive game in the league.” While Anthony stands at 6-8 and 240 pounds, he is very quick and possesses a smooth jumper. His ability to post up smaller wings and take bigger frontcourt players off the dribble make him one of the hardest assignments in the NBA.

Where Carmelo struggles to make an impact is on the defensive side of the floor. This is partially due to the players that surround him on the Knicks, as the team has lacked a quality frontcourt presence since Amare Stoudamire began to struggle with injuries. As a result of quality depth down low, Carmelo has to often guard players way bigger than him. Only time will tell if the Knicks can surround him with the right pieces for Melo to take them to the promised land.
